LED flashlights offer several advantages in comparison to regular flashlights that use incandescent bulbs.

Most LED flashlights have an operational life expectancy of over 25,000 hours, which is as longer than nearly all flashlights will be used. This advantage, made possible by the solid state technology that LEDs use, eliminates the need for routine bulb replacement. In fact, it is usually safe to assume they will never need to be replaced.
. Longer battery life - The battery life of LED flashlights is also considerably longer than regular flashlights. With that said, one needs to remember that actual battery life depends on the following factors: (1) the number of LEDs one is lighting (2) the amount of light each LED is giving off, and (3) the type of battery one is using.
Lithium batteries last longer, perform better at low temperatures, and are lighter than alkaline batteries. However, these batteries also cost more. So if cost is an issue, purchasing those with alkaline batteries makes sense. Otherwise, lithium batteries should be considered.
